Would you like to volunteer?
All employees and regular volunteers who work with children (teachers, coaches, etc.) must attend an orientation workshop on the Decree on Child Protection and receive an acceptable criminal background check through fingerprinting. If an employee or a regular volunteer has not attended an orientation workshop on the Decree on Child Protection or has not received an acceptable criminal background check through fingerprinting, the person is not approved to work with children.
A B-4 Form must be completed, sent to the Chancery, and the registry checks noted in the B-4 Policy and B-6 Policy must be completed before an employee or regular volunteer begins working with children.
Additionally, under our current policies, each time an employee or regular volunteer has a change in location of service, the person is required to be fingerprinted again. The location of service is currently St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus, Covington and Immaculate Conception, Bradford.
A regular volunteer is an adult who has contact with children more than (3) hours a month; or has contact with children more frequently than once a month, or participates in an overnight event with children. It does not include the occasional volunteer, such as a driver or chaperone for individual activities that are not overnight.
You are required to attend the orientation class (about 30 minutes) before being fingerprinted. Please be prepared to make full payment for fingerprinting at the time of your orientation.
The cost of fingerprinting is $28; the cost of a state check (when required) is an additional $30. (These costs reflect a discounted rate when billed through St. Teresa.) A state check is required for anyone who has not lived within the state of Ohio during the last two years.
Please contact the pastor if you are interested or for additional information.
